There are many different alcoholic drinks available these days that it is confusing to know what to choose. One of the best ways to discover which the best wines are is to read reviews. At least that way you will have some inclination of the kind of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really one of the best way of finding great wines.

I used to mostly drink cocktails and have a great Brandy Alexander recipe which I used to mix. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. As an example, the Brandy Alexander recipe includes the following ingredients:

1 1/2 oz brandy
1 oz dark creme de cacao
1 oz half-and-half
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg

Cocktails are fun to have at a party or at a trendy bar but they sure can be expensive! Even during discount times, you can simply break the budget by drinking a couple of cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will drink white wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and accept that drinking wine over cocktails means I get a delicious drink which is probably healthier and with fewer calories.

Whenever I can I prefer to drink organic wine or low sulphate wine. I adore French wines but am happy to try anything. I have also tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to judge a wine based on the country where it is made, you can be amazed at the quality of wines made in regions not known for wine production.

There are many sites where you can find wine reviews to allow you to make the best choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I like to read wine forums because you can then get fairly instant feedback on the wine you are thinking of purchasing.

If you are interested in organic wines then see Treehugger for details on how buying organic food is less destructive for out planet. Wikipedia also has some good articles on organic farms and organic food and wine.
