There are many different alcoholic drinks available these days that it is confusing to know what to choose. One of the simplest ways to discover which the best wines are is to find reviews. That means you will have some knowledge of the flavour of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really the best way of finding excellent wines.
I did always drink cocktails and have a good Gin-Cassis Fizz recipe which I used to make up. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the Gin-Cassis Fizz recipe consists of only these ingredients:
2 1/2 oz gin
1 1/2 oz lemon juice
1 tsp superfine sugar
4 oz club soda
1/2 oz creme de cassis
Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are expensive! Even during specials, you can easily break the budget by consuming some cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will choose red wine or champagne. I have learnt which are the best organic wines available and know that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a delicious drink which is most probably better for me and with fewer calories.
Whenever I can I prefer to order Australian organic wine or preservative free wine. I love American wines but am glad to try anything. I have even tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not necessarily a good idea to pick a wine based on the region where it is produced, you can be amazed at the quality of wines made in regions not known for wine production.
There are many sites where you can find wine recommendations to help you make the best choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find many reviews online. I tend to read wine blogs because you can then get immediate opinions on the wine you are considering buying.
If you are thinking of trying organic wines then see Treehugger for help on how buying organic food is less harmful for out planet. Wikipedia also has some excellent articles on organic farms and organic food and wine.
