There are many different beverages available these days that it is confusing to know what to buy. One of the simplest ways to know which the best value for money wines are is to check out reviews. That means you will have some inclination of the kind of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Reviews are really a great way of discovering great wines.

I did mostly drink cocktails and have a good Ichabod Crane recipe which I used to mix. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. For instance, the Ichabod Crane recipe consists of only these ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Bols® Pumpkin Smash liqueur
1 oz Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur
1/2 oz Bacardi® 151 rum
2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Cocktails are a lot of fun to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are expensive! Even during happy hour, you can easily break the budget by drinking a couple of cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will drink red wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and know that drinking wine over cocktails will mean I get a tasty drink which is most probably much healthier and with fewer calories.

Whenever possible I prefer to order organic wines or preservative free wine. I adore American wines but am happy to try anything. I have even tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to choose a wine based on the location where it is produced, you can be amazed at the quality of wines produced in areas not known for wine production.

There are many places where you can find wine recommendations to allow you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find many reviews online. I prefer to read wine forums because you can then get immediate opinions on the wine you are thinking of drinking.

If you are thinking of trying organic wines then check out Treehugger for information on how choosing organic wine is less damaging for soils. Wikipedia also has some excellent articles on organic growing and organic food and wine.
