There are many different alcoholic drinks available in the shops that it is difficult to know what to get. One of the simplest ways to discover which the best value for money wines are is to read reviews. That way you will have some knowledge of the flavour of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really a great way of choosing delicious wines.
I used to mostly drink cocktails and have a good Jay Leno recipe which I used to mix. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the Jay Leno recipe includes the following ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Scotch whisky
3/4 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1/8 oz fresh lemon juice
Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are very expensive! Even during discount times, you can simply break a budget by drinking some cocktails. So now, more often than not I will stick to white wine or champagne. I have discovered which are the best organic wines available and believe that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a great drink which is probably healthier and with fewer calories.
Whenever I have a choice I prefer to buy organic wine or no added preservative wine. I enjoy Australian wines but am glad to try anything. I have happily tried wines from Italy before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not always a good idea to judge a wine based on the region where it is grown, you can be shocked at the quality of wines produced in areas not known for wine production.
There are many websites where you can find wine reviews to help you make a good choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find the latest reviews online. I like to read wine forums because you can then get fairly instant opinions on the wine you are considering buying.
