There are plenty of different alcoholic drinks available in the shops that it is difficult to know what to choose. One of the best ways to know which the best value for money wines are is to find reviews. That way you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really the best way of finding great wines.
I used to mostly drink cocktails and have a tasty La Tamarinda recipe which I used to mix. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the La Tamarinda recipe includes the following ingredients:
7 oz tequila
1 quart water
12 fresh tamarinds
Cocktails are fun to have at a party or at a hip bar but they sure can be expensive! Even during happy hour, you can easily break your budget by consuming a couple of cocktails. So these days, more often than not I will drink rose wine or champagne. I have discovered which are the best organic wines available and accept that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a great drink which is most probably better for me and with fewer calories.
Whenever I can I prefer to buy Australian organic wine or no added preservative wine. I adore French wines but am glad to try anything. I have even tried wines from Italy before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to choose a wine based on the region where it is made, you can be surprised at the quality of wines grown in areas not known for wine production.
There are many places where you can find wine information to help you make a good choice in wine. Whether you prefer rose or sparkling wine, you can find many reviews online. I prefer to read wine forums because you can then get immediate opinions on the wine you are contemplating drinking.
If you are thinking of trying organic wines then check out Treehugger for information on how buying organic wine is less destructive for soils. Wikipedia also has some excellent articles on organic farms and organic food and wine.
