There are so many different alcoholic drinks available in the shops that it is confusing to know what to get. One of the simplest ways to find out which the best wines are is to check out reviews. At least that way you will have some inclination of the flavour of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really a great way of choosing excellent wines.
I did always drink cocktails and have a good Mamie Gilroy recipe which I used to mix. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. As an example, the Mamie Gilroy recipe uses only these ingredients:
2 oz Scotch whisky
juice of 1/2 limes
ginger ale
Cocktails are a lot of fun to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are very expensive! Even during discount times, you can often break your budget by having a few cocktails. So these days, more often than not I will drink red wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and accept that drinking wine over cocktails will mean I get a tasty drink which is most probably healthier and with fewer calories.
Whenever possible I prefer to buy organic wines or low sulphate wine. I adore American wines but am happy to try anything. I have even tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to pick a wine based on the location where it is made, you can be amazed at the quality of wines made in areas not known for wine production.
There are many sites where you can find wine reviews to help you make the best choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find many reviews online. I prefer to read wine forums because you can then get fairly instant comments on the wine you are thinking of buying.
