There are so many different drinks available these days that it is not easy to know what to get. One of the simplest ways to discover which the best wines are is to check out reviews. At least that way you will have some inclination of the kind of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Recommendations are really one of the best way of discovering great wines.
I would mostly drink cocktails and have a good Mundo Fine recipe which I used to make up. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the Mundo Fine recipe uses the following ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Canadian whisky
1 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1 1/2 oz cream
3 oz orange juice
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp grenadine syrup
Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a trendy bar but they sure can be expensive! Even during happy hour, you can simply break your budget by having a couple of cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will stick to red wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and accept that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a great drink which is most likely much healthier and with fewer calories.
Whenever possible I prefer to order organic wines or low sulphate wine. I enjoy French wines but am glad to try anything. I have also tried wines from Italy before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to pick a wine based on the location where it is made, you can be amazed at the quality of wines produced in countries not known for wine production.
There are many websites where you can find wine recommendations to allow you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer rose or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I prefer to read wine forums because you can then get fairly instant comments on the wine you are thinking of buying.
If you are looking for more information on organic wines then check out Treehugger for details on how choosing organic produce is less destructive for soils. Wikipedia also has some excellent articles on organic growing and organic food and wine.
