There are so many different alcoholic drinks available now that it is difficult to know what to choose. One of the simplest ways to find out which the best value for money wines are is to read reviews. At least that way you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really one of the best way of choosing great wines.

I used to mostly drink cocktails and have a good Red Wine Cooler recipe which I used to make up. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. As an example, the Red Wine Cooler recipe includes these ingredients:

4 oz red wine
2 oz lemon-lime soda
2 oz ginger ale

Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a trendy bar but they sure are very expensive! Even during discount times, you can simply break a budget by having a couple of cocktails. So now, more often than not I will stick to red wine or champagne. I have discovered which are the best organic wines available and know that drinking wine over cocktails will mean I get a great drink which is probably healthier and with fewer calories.

Whenever I can I prefer to order Australian organic wine or low sulphate wine. I love Australian wines but am glad to try anything. I have also tried wines from Italy before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not always a good idea to pick a wine based on the region where it is made, you can be shocked at the quality of wines produced in regions not known for wine production.

There are many websites where you can find wine reviews to allow you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I like to read wine blogs because you can then get immediate feedback on the wine you are contemplating drinking.

If you are thinking of trying organic wines then visit Treehugger for information on how purchasing organic produce is less damaging for the environment. Wikipedia also has some great articles on organic growing and organic food and wine.
