There are many different drinks available in the shops that it is confusing to know what to choose. One of the easiest ways to find out which the best value for money wines are is to read reviews. That way you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Recommendations are really a great way of discovering great wines.
I did often drink cocktails and have a great St. Charles Punch recipe which I used to mix. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the St. Charles Punch recipe consists of only these ingredients:
1 oz brandy
1/2 oz triple sec
3 oz port
juice of 1 lemons
1 tsp sugar
1 slice lemon
Cocktails are fun to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are expensive! Even during happy hour, you can easily break a budget by having a few cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will choose white wine or champagne. I have learnt which are the best organic wines available and believe that drinking wine over cocktails will mean I get a delicious drink which is most likely healthier and with fewer calories.
Whenever I have a choice I prefer to order Australian organic wine or no added preservative wine. I adore American wines but am willing to try anything. I have even tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to judge a wine based on the location where it is grown, you can be surprised at the quality of wines produced in regions not known for wine production.
There are many sites where you can find wine recommendations to allow you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I prefer to read wine blogs because you can then get fairly instant opinions on the wine you are considering drinking.
If you are interested in organic wines then visit Treehugger for information on how purchasing organic produce is less destructive for the environment. Wikipedia also has some great articles on organic growing and organic food and wine.
