Stranger-In-Town recipe

There are plenty of different drinks available these days that it is not easy to know what to get. One of the best ways to find out which the best value for money wines are is to check out reviews. That way you will have some knowledge of the flavour of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Recommendations are really the best way of finding delicious wines.

I used to mostly drink cocktails and have a good Stranger-In-Town recipe which I used to make up. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. As an example, the Stranger-In-Town recipe includes only these ingredients:

1 1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
1/2 oz Calvados® brandy
1/2 oz cherry brandy
1 maraschino cherry

Cocktails are fun to have at a party or at a trendy bar but they sure can be expensive! Even during discount times, you can often break the budget by consuming a few cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will stick to white wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and know that drinking wine over cocktails means I get a tasty drink which is most probably better for me and with fewer calories.

Whenever possible I prefer to order organic wines or no added preservative wine. I adore American wines but am glad to try anything. I have also tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not necessarily a good idea to pick a wine based on the region where it is produced, you can be surprised at the quality of wines produced in countries not known for wine production.

There are many websites where you can find wine recommendations to help you make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer white or sparkling wine, you can find the latest reviews online. I prefer to read wine social media sites because you can then get immediate feedback on the wine you are considering purchasing.

If you are interested in organic wines then see Treehugger for details on how buying organic produce is less harmful for soils. Wikipedia also has some good articles on organic farms and organic food and wine.

If you have a favourite wine which you enjoy to drink then spread the word by leaving us a comment or if you have any questions such as how to choose a good wine or anything about champagne then ask us and we will get back to you!
