There are plenty of different drinks available these days that it is confusing to know what to buy. One of the easiest ways to discover which the best wines are is to check out reviews. At least that way you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Others opinions are really a great way of discovering great wines.
I would often drink cocktails and have a good Sunset Martini Cocktail recipe which I used to make. Even the most detailed cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the Sunset Martini Cocktail recipe includes only these ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Bacardi® orange rum
3 oz lemonade
Cocktails are a lot of fun to have at a party or at a hip bar but they sure are expensive! Even during specials, you can simply break your budget by having a couple of cocktails. So nowadays, more often than not I will choose red wine or champagne. I have discovered which are the best organic wines available and believe that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a delicious drink which is most probably healthier and with fewer calories.
Whenever I have a choice I prefer to buy organic wine or preservative free wine. I love American wines but am happy to try anything. I have even tried wines from South Africa before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not necessarily a good idea to choose a wine based on the location where it is produced, you can be surprised at the quality of wines produced in areas not known for wine production.
There are many sites where you can find wine reviews to enable you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer red or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I like to read wine forums because you can then get fairly instant feedback on the wine you are thinking of drinking.
If you are interested in organic wines then see Treehugger for help on how choosing organic food is less destructive for out planet. Wikipedia also has some excellent articles on organic farms and organic food and wine.
