There are so many different beverages available in the shops that it is difficult to know what to choose. One of the simplest ways to discover which the best value for money wines are is to find reviews. At least that way you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Recommendations are really one of the best way of discovering great wines.
I used to always drink cocktails and have a good Toolkit recipe which I used to make. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. As an example, the Toolkit recipe uses only these ingredients:
1 part creme de cacao
1 part Irish cream
1 part amaretto almond liqueur
1 part Kahlua® coffee liqueur
Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a hip bar but they sure are expensive! Even during happy hour, you can often break a budget by having some cocktails. So now, more often than not I will stick to white wine or champagne. I have educated myself on the best organic wines available and believe that drinking wine over cocktails will mean I get a tasty drink which is most probably better for me and with fewer calories.
Whenever I have a choice I prefer to order organic wine or low sulphate wine. I adore Australian wines but am willing to try anything. I have happily tried wines from Argentina before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not often a good idea to pick a wine based on the region where it is made, you can be shocked at the quality of wines made in countries not known for wine production.
There are many places where you can find wine recommendations to allow you to make a good choice in wine. Whether you prefer rose or sparkling wine, you can find recent reviews online. I tend to read wine forums because you can then get almost instant feedback on the wine you are thinking of purchasing.
