There are so many different alcoholic drinks available in the shops that it is confusing to know what to buy. One of the easiest ways to know which the best value for money wines are is to read reviews. That means you will have some idea of the type of wine it is as well as the quality of the wine. Recommendations are really a great way of discovering great wines.
I would often drink cocktails and have a great Watermelon Shot recipe which I used to make. Even the most elaborate cocktails are actually easy to make. For example, the Watermelon Shot recipe includes these ingredients:
1 part vodka
1 part amaretto almond liqueur
1 part Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
fill with orange juice
pineapple juice
1 dash grenadine syrup
Cocktails are cool to have at a party or at a cool bar but they sure are expensive! Even during happy hour, you can often break a budget by drinking a couple of cocktails. So now, more often than not I will choose white wine or champagne. I have discovered which are the best organic wines available and accept that drinking wine over cocktails generally means I get a delicious drink which is probably better for me and with fewer calories.
Whenever I can I prefer to buy Australian organic wine or low sulphate wine. I enjoy American wines but am happy to try anything. I have happily tried wines from Italy before and they have been some of the best wines I have ever had. It is not always a good idea to choose a wine based on the country where it is grown, you can be surprised at the quality of wines grown in regions not known for wine production.
There are many places where you can find wine information to enable you to make a reliable choice in wine. Whether you prefer rose or sparkling wine, you can find many reviews online. I tend to read wine forums because you can then get immediate opinions on the wine you are contemplating buying.
